Butterfly Birthday

Hi. Thanks for all the well wishes. The cold is still hanging on, but getting better. Cold medicine puts me to sleep, so I haven't been getting much stamping done. I did manage to stay awake long enough to complete this card using Unity stamps.

The butterfly is from Butterfly Beauty and the bamboo and leaves are from Gratitude=Joy. I colored the butterfly with Copic markers and cut it out. The background was sponged with So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose inks. I stamped the leafy branches were inked with Going Gray ink and stamped off once before stamping.

The birthday sentiment is from Say it With Flowers (Gina K). I cut it out using nestabilities and sponged it, also. The designer paper is from the Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration mini catalog and the card base is Regal Rose.

Must be time for another nap! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Theresa, sure hope you feel better soon. It's a bummer to be sick when you'd much rather be crafting! Your card is gorgeous! Unity has some very pretty stamp sets, and this one is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing!

Sorry Theresa, I missed that you've not been well because I haven't been blog checking much this week. Glad you're on the mend now though. Actually, are you sure you haven't sent the 'bugs' over the internet Tee Hee? I seem to have got up this morning with a really tickly chest and throat.

Anyway, that last few cards are beautiful and your tutorials are always great too. My own favourite is the last one because I adore butterflies and I love the colours you used.

Get better hugs!

Hey Teresa - I have just been browsing your archives and I think one thing I notice is that you do an AMAZING job with sponging. Some time would you share just how you do that? What kind of sponge do you use - how do you make sure you don't get TOO much color but at the same time leave that lovely glow? I'm always afraid to sponge on a "perfect" image for fear I'll mess up the whole thing with that final step. I'd love some tips from you.
Thanks for sharing your awesome creations with all of us.
